A department at the University of Minnesota has initiated a request to issue a payment via international wire transfer to you. To ensure the secure and accurate processing of these funds, we require specific background and banking details.

Purpose of this Request

The University is currently subject to a Geographical Targeting Order (GTO) issued by the United States federal government. This mandate requires us to report detailed payee information to our banking institutions for every wire transfer transaction. Consequently, you will receive a similar request for information each time a payment is initiated. This new electronic process is also an effort to collect sensitive information in a more secure manner and make our information collection process more accessible. 

Instructions: 

Payment Summary: The first page of the secure form provides a summary of the current payment request. No data entry is required on this page.
Information Entry: After proceeding from the summary page, you will be prompted to enter your background information and banking credentials.

Important note on banking institutions

Please be advised that the University of Minnesota cannot issue payments via international wire transfer to institutions located within the United States (those utilizing a domestic routing or ABA code). If you prefer to provide banking information for a U.S.-based account, or if you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the Controller’s Office at controller@umn.edu.
