Thesis Proposal (THPR) Case List

The Thesis Proposal (THPR) form is used by UHP students to submit an intent to complete a thesis. All thesis proposal forms require a thesis advisor to approve the supervision of a student's thesis. There is an option for student's to indicate that they will complete an interdisciplinary thesis and statuses are adjusted based on the type of thesis the student is planning on submitting. 

The Case Number listed for each request is unique to the student's submission. When referencing a specific case, please refer to the Case Number. This number is included in all email notifications that are sent out.

The following table will only display an advisor's assigned students based on the student's form submission. Advisors can search the table for a specific student's request. If a student does not show up, it is likely that the student did not list the advisor in the form.

Provisional - This status indicates a student's submission of the thesis proposal form. It is pending thesis advisor approval. (Approval is only required from the thesis advisor.)

Proposal Approved - This status indicates that the thesis advisor has approved the supervision of the student's thesis. Notification has been sent to the student, the Honors advisor, the HFR, and UHP admin for processing. (UHP Admin will enter in thesis proposal information into Airtable and APLUS as a tag.)

Interdisciplinary Proposal in Review - This status indicates that a student has submitted an interdisciplinary thesis proposal and the form is awaiting approval from co-advisors. (Interdisciplinary theses require at least two co-advisors and both must approve to supervise the thesis.)

Interdisciplinary Proposal Approved - This status indicates that both thesis co-advisors have approved to supervise the student's interdisciplinary thesis proposal. Notification has been sent to the student, the Honors advisor, the HFR, and UHP admin for processing. (UHP Admin will enter in thesis proposal information into Airtable and APLUS as a tag.)

Denied - This status indicates that the listed thesis advisor has denied supervising the student's thesis. 

Interdisciplinary - Denied - This status indicates that at least one of the listed thesis co-advisors has denied supervising the student's thesis. If any of the thesis advisors for an interdisciplinary thesis deny supervision of the thesis, the thesis proposal is denied and the student must reassess and resubmit. 

Cancelled - This status indicates that the thesis proposal has not received any response from the thesis advisor(s) for a period of 60 days or the student has requested the cancellation of the form. (The majority of forms with a 'cancelled' status will be due to inactivity versus the latter.)
